About your therapist
Healing is possible — even when it hasn't felt that way for a long time.
I'm Casie Gee, a Licensed Independent Social Worker specializing in CPTSD and complex trauma. My work is rooted in the belief that healing is possible — and that the right support makes all the difference in getting there.

My story
A practice built from both training and lived experience
I'm passionate about helping people heal from trauma — and that passion comes from a personal place. Through my own journey with the impacts of trauma, I found hope and discovered approaches that are actually effective. That experience shapes everything about how I work. We all have our own unique paths, and I believe it's essential to find the strategies that genuinely work for you.
I've spent nearly a decade working in the substance use treatment field, beginning at the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services in 2014, where I advocated for individuals at a policy level and managed grants. After completing internships at DHEC and Courage Center, I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Master of Social Work. I then joined LRADAC — the Lexington Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission — in 2019, working directly with individuals navigating substance use disorders and co-occurring challenges, including complex trauma. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and experienced in working with religious trauma related to LGBTQ+ issues.
Outside the office, I live in Lexington, SC with my wife and three dogs — including Winston, my therapy dog in training. When I'm not working, you'll find me on the lake with family, writing music or riding dirt bikes off road.
Trauma is not what happens to you. It's what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you.

Meet Winston
Therapy dog in training
Winston is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and the newest member of the Heartspring Wellness team. He's been coming to the office since he was 8 weeks old, so the therapy room is as familiar to him as home. He's currently in training to become a certified therapy dog — and he's already a natural at the most important part of the job: making people feel at ease the moment they walk in. He loves greeting clients at the door and accompanying them back to the office, which more than a few people have said is the best part of their day.
During sessions, Winston is trained to stay settled on his bed — but if you'd like some company, he's happy to sit with you. Research consistently shows that the presence of a therapy animal can reduce anxiety, lower cortisol levels, and help people feel safer in therapeutic settings. Winston brings a gentle, grounding energy to the space — and he loves wearing his bow tie.

Treatment philosophy
Healing happens in relationship — and at your pace
My job isn't to tell you what to do or have all the answers. It's to come alongside you — with my experience and expertise — and help you find your own answers and your own pathway to healing. You are the one who knows your life. I bring the tools, the training, and the presence. Together, we find what works for you. I weave Deep Brain Reorienting together with EMDR and a client-centered approach grounded in attachment theory, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems, somatic awareness, CBT, and DBT skills — always following your lead.
Safety first
We build a foundation of safety before processing trauma. There is no rushing in this work.
Relationally grounded
Healing happens in the context of safe relationship. The connection we build in the room is itself part of the treatment.
Depth-oriented
Some patterns live beneath words and memory. We work at the level of the brainstem and nervous system, where the deepest change happens.
Your answers, not mine
I'm not here to hand you a roadmap. I'm here to walk alongside you while you find your own — with the right support and tools to make that possible.
Healing is possible — we often just need the right supports.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can get a sense of whether we're a good fit. There's no pressure — just a conversation.
